Matthew 22:37-40
Jesus replied, “‘You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. A second is equally important: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ The entire law and all the demands of the prophets are based on these two commandments.”
Sometimes we get so used to and comfortable with the way that the world is around us that we lose sight of the messages that God has given us. The Bible gives us two very important commandments, the first is to Love God and the second is to Love One Another. With the division that exists in the world now whether it is politics, war, racism, or anything else happening have we done this? As Christians, we have based our faith on Loving God and Loving One Another as we were commanded but are we doing this daily or are we doing this when it fits into the world around us? We may not like the sins that people commit but we should Love them as we Love ourselves. When we show one another this Love it opens the door to spreading God's word, it allows us to show people that through Jesus we can have eternal life.
A massive flood of water starts with a single drop of rain just as we can start a massive flood of God's word by sharing Jesus with one person. Let's start by sharing Love regardless of any preconceived notions, anything that the world puts in front of us as roadblocks, any hesitation, or anything else that may slow us down and get back to God's commandment.
